Internet buzz and underground fame found Denzel Curry when he became a member of Raider Klan, the lo-fi brainchild of underground hip-hop hero SpaceGhostPurrp. In 2013 the Florida-based rapper delivered the impressive debut project dubbed Nostalgic 64 which landed him a perfomance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival. Earlier this month he released 32 Zel/Planet Mushrooms and it’s safe to say that the young emcee has grown a lot since the release of his first project. He’s much more comfortable with his voice now and instead of going outside his comfort zone, he dives deeper into the complexities of his own sound. Those of you who are familiar with Ghent-based party concept All Eyes On Hip Hop already know that Curry always puts on a killer performance.

If there’s one band you can’t put in a box, it’s definitely STUFF. This homegrown five piece live band brings a cross genre groove, spanning from broken hip hop to more electronic and jazz influenced future funk. Back in March they released their self-titled debut album and embarked on a sold out club tour in Belgium. On July they will take Les Ardentes by storm and supply you with a steamy mashup of your favourite genres. You don’t want to miss out on this one.

Dutch multi-instrumentalist & producer Binkbeats first gained traction with his Beats Unraveled series on Boiler Room . During these sessions he single-handedly deconstructs tracks he loves and recreates them using live instruments. This guy is the true definition of a beatsmith and his fanbase includes prestigious producers such as Lapalux and Flying Lotus. His live performances are a pleasure to watch as you get to see him master various instruments such as drums, synths, turntables and many more.

There’s actually no proper way to proper way to introduce Slow Magic. Not a lot is known about this masked and mysterious producer except for the fact that he makes brilliant music. He’s known as the master of Glo-fi thanks to his signature mysterious and mellow soundscapes with a crisp, frosty edge. His live shows, however, are almost the opposite. He brings a tangible energy and calculated commotion to the floor and knows how to get the party started.

New York rap is back. Ever since A$AP Rocky and his A$AP Mobb started making waves in 2011, there’s been a steady flow of rappers and rap crews reinforcing New York’s key role in hip hop. Although the Beast Coast movement which includes Joey Bada$$’ Pro Era, The Underachievers & Flatbush Zombies might be the best example of rap crews putting New York rap back on the map, Ratking is definitely the most refreshing group coming out of New York right now. Their sound is influenced by early ’90s rap beats, jazz and noise rock and has reinvented New York rap without destroying it in the process.
